Interesting reading list for sure. I added 'The Vanquished' to my request list at the library, maybe I'll find time to crack it. Definitely a complete gap in education in the US, at least in my years of formal schooling.
Yeah, I was really surprised reading it at just how awful conditions remained in eastern Europe/the former Ottoman Empire until well into the 1920s. Most US histories pretty much drop WWI in 1918 and move on to the roaring 20s.
